Vanessa Williams announces her Engagement to Jim Skrip

Vanessa Williams divulged the secret on The Queen Latifah Show on Friday, September 26. She went on the show wearing her engagement ring and told Latifah that she had gotten engaged to her boyfriend Jim Skrip.

“Vanessa, I have been trying to have a conversation, ladies and gents, but I’m blinded by the light coming from that bling ring on your finger,” Latifah told Williams and then asked, “Is there something that we need to know around here?”

The Desperate Housewives star blushed at this question. “Oh sorry darling, I got engaged,” Vanessa said while looking at her shiny new engagement ring. “I have had a lot of good things happen. I turned 50 when we were in rehearsal on Broadway, I just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. It has been a lot of blessings for me on this trip.”

Vanessa Williams is a former Miss America. She is now a TV and Broadway actress. And she looks fresh and energetic even at the age of 51 years. She married twice before getting engaged to Jim Skrip. 

First she married Ramon Hervey, a public relations consultant. She has two daughters, 27-year-old Melanie, 25-year-old Jillian and a 21-year-old son Devin from Ramon.

Her second husband was Rick Fox, who is a former NBA player. She has a 14-year-old daughter Sasha with Rick. And now the mother of four got engaged to Buffalo native, Jim Skrip who has been her boyfriend since the past two years or so.

Vanessa did not publicly talk about her romance with Jim until February 2014.  She kept her romance a secret and she just revealed a little bit about her mystery man six months ago. 

“He’s a guy I met a year-and-a-half ago when I was on vacation with my daughter in Egypt,” Williams said in February. “You go across the world to find somebody who is six hours away.”

And she also revealed that her mystery man was first an accountant and then he was involved in the real estate business. Vanessa Williams is currently on a tour for the remake of her drama The Trip Bountiful. Jessie Mae Watts is the character she plays in this drama.
