Vernon Davis is unsure if he can perform on Sunday

Vernon Davis is dilly-dallying and in a state of limbo. He didn’t attend the match which took place the previous Sunday due to an injury. Actually his ankle got sprained.

But now it is a whole lot better and he has returned to the tough game that is football. However, like a wavering wanderer, he refuses to divulge whether he would be playing the Eagles on the upcoming Sunday or not.

In fact, he was dithering about the decision. He said that he was a bit unsure regarding what step he should take. “I’m not sure yet,” Davis said yesterday. “I just want to play it by ear and continue to work. Hopefully, I’ll feel great come game day.”

Another footballer, Vance McDonald, who was also facing an injury, feels confident that he can take a licking and go on ticking. Vance had issues with his knee.

Vernon, on the other hand, has quite a reputation for his fast footwork and catching ability. However, the 49ers want him not only for his strong suit but also for his run-halting capabilities.

The 49ers are at the 17th number in the NFL ranks. They could use a little help. And currently they are looking to Vernon and Vance as the two recovering agents of aggressive play on the field where results are what matter.

Even the coach of the team has acknowledged that Vernon has it in him to take the team higher. He is a gem of a player and despite the unfortunate injury he can give it a jam and spell the difference between bitter defeat and sweet victory.

“He’s one of those rare tight ends who’s really good in the run game and really good in the pass game. He’s at the highest level in both,” Head coach Jim Harbaugh said.

“The thing I appreciate about this offense is we run and we pass. Everyone has a chance to get involved. We can’t do much without Frank, so we have to get him involved.”

Vernon is however rather dejected at the possibility of remaining on the sidelines. He wants to get well as soon as possible and just get out their on the field and rip the turf as he scores touchdown after touchdown.

However, against their wishes, the 49ers had to declare both Vernon and Vance to be unfit for playing just yet. It will be a lonely gameplay without these two seasoned meat monsters who have the guts and the muscles to defeat the opponent.
