Elon Musk is trying to revolutionize the world by bringing in lighter and cheaper internet satellites in coordination with SpaceX.

Elon Musk is a billionaire entrepreneur and he is always keeps thinking about how he can change the world to make it better. He previously introduced electric cars in the automotive industry and he made cheap rockets in the aerospace industry. So we can see a pattern that he is always working for the betterment of the humanity.

This time around he has turned his attention towards small satellites. These small satellites are going to be called internet satellites. He is trying to make less expensive and smaller satellites and that is why he has come together with Google’s former executive.

These internet satellites would be able to able deliver internet to every corner of the globe. People used to believe that delivering internet to every corner would never be possible but now Elon’s team believes that nothing is possible.

Musk is closely working with Greg Wyler who has been working in the satellite industry all his life. It was Greg Wyler who founded the WorldVu Satellites Ltd. and this is the company that has control over a large block of radio spectrum.

Both of them are planning to launch a minimum of 700 satellites and each one of those satellites would be weighing less than 250 pounds. When you compare the size with the normal communication satellites it is half their size.

This new satellite constellation is going to be 10 times the size of the largest current fleet of satellites which is managed by Iridium Communications Inc. The main problem in this project is the cost. The company will also face technical and regulatory hurdles. The project cost is estimated at $1 billion or even more.

Other people who are involved in the project believe that Musk’s participation isn’t certain. There were official talks in Florida and Colorado and Musk and Wyler are thinking about making a factory that will make these satellites. WorldVu is also looking at other satellite industry partners so that they can help them out in the project.

Elon Musk believes that Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or SpaceX are going to be launching their internet satellites. But still no agreement has been reached with the two companies.

SpaceX has kept itself busy in the past five years as they’ve launched a dozen of their falcon 9 rockets and they plan to launch even more. They were also given a $2.6 billion contract by NASA to test and fly space taxis so that they could carry US astronauts into orbit.

This whole project has a long way to go. Musk believes that with the right help and with the right technology, these internet satellites can be launched. If the project is a success, it is going to change the lives of people forever. Currently only a limited number of people have access to internet.
