Walmart is the most influential Black Friday store. Many stores follow their lead if they can. Walmart launched the Black Friday sale last year at 6pm Thanksgiving Day. Yesterday Macy’s confirmed to start the Macy’s Black Friday 2014 sale at 6pm this year. This is two hours earlier than last year when Macy’s opened at 8pm, which was Walmart’s Black Friday start time in 2012.
Is Walmart daring to move their Black Friday 2014 sales launch time to an earlier time on Thanksgiving Day? I believe so. We already reported that the Walmart Stores will be open all day on Thanksgiving. Now that more stores are likely to adopt the 6pm time slot to start Black Friday 2014 Sales, I think that Walmart aims at an earlier time. I could see now the Walmart Black Friday 2014 sale to start as early as Thanksgiving Day Noon. This way you could get all the doorbuster deals you need by early afternoon and be back home for your Turkey Dinner.
