Walmart has told its store managers that they can price match with online stores like Amazon.
End of last month we reported that Walmart is testing online price matching policies in select stores. Today a Reuters report says that Walmart disclosed int eh earnings call that Walmart told all Walmart store managers across the nation that they can price match with online prices online stores including Amazon.com.

It will be interesting how Walmart will handle the online price match during the Black Friday sales. Amazon’s prices are so voliatile that it will be hard to proof that a certain lower price was in affect at some point. Will Amazon Lightning deals qualify for the price match?
Best Buy is offering online price matching already. Their policies say that the online price needs to be lower online price needs to still be in effect. That means lightning deals do not qualify.
The online price match only works when Amazon reduces a price on an item for a longer period. This happens quite often. So keep in mind that Walmart offers online pricematching. Check on your smartphone before you buy at a Walmart store if there is a lower price online and ask a Walmart associate if the store matches the price. If they do, buy at Walmart, if they don’t hit the Buy Now button.
