Yahoo Acquires Distill

Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer is on a shopping spree for the umpteenth time in a row. This time the Distill team will be working for Yahoo. The latest acquisition will enhance the productivity of Yahoo’s mobile advertising department.



They were the ones who ran Tapjoy. But then they turned to form Distill. Now Distill has been acquired by Yahoo. It is a new beginning that it is hoped will prove auspicious. 

Distill states, “We are excited to share the news that the Distill team is off to start a new adventure! We are joining Yahoo.”

The team of seven individuals will be joining the ranks of Yahoo to oversee its mobile advertising section. Here they will bring the previous experience which they gained from Tapjoy to the matter at hand. 

Yahoo can only benefit from the talented and dedicated staff of Distill. It is a technical recruiting firm that is based in San Francisco. Distill has already raised $1.3 million in funds. They are famous for their video interviews. 

The basic feature for which Distill is renowned consists of a Skype-like video chat facility which is welded to a textual correction machine and file upload capacitor. An interviewer can thus easily accomplish his or her job of cross-examining candidates.

Distill also states, “As of today, we have stopped development of Distill Schedule and Distill Interview. You will still be able to schedule interviews through the end of February, and the Distill platform will remain available through Sunday, March 30, 2014.”

With Distill a part of Yahoo, the expectations are high that it will bring huge benefits in its wake. This of course is yet to be seen and all that can be said with certainty is that fingers ought to be kept crossed. 

Marissa Mayer’s shopaholic trends seem to know no end. By now Yahoo /4/in fact be in a state of glut with so many acquisitions. One thinks how so many diverse entities and enterprises are to be assimilated in the maw of the firm.
