Lisa Niemi Weds Again

Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze and actress Lisa Niemi remained married for 39 years. Swayze left Niemi in September 2009 when he died at the age of 57 from pancreatic cancer.

Almost 4 years after Swayze’s death, his widow fell in love again. Lisa Niemi wrote in a blog post in last month that she fell in love again.

57-year-old Niemi met 58-year-old Albert DePrisco through mutual friends in 2012. DePrisco is a Boston-based jeweler. The couple dated for more than a year.

“They say that falling in love is wonderful,” Niemi wrote on her website, while describing her feelings about DePrisco in great detail. “That sick feeling. The butterfly stomach, the rubbery legs, the diminished mental capacity,” she wrote of her emotions. “A feeling of being paralyzed, like some kind of speared fish, floating helplessly after a powerful sedative.”

Niemi and DePrisco got engaged in December 2013. And in the same month on Christmas Eve, DePrisco proposed to Niemi. And now the couple is officially married.

“Patrick Swayze’s widow and jeweler Albert DePrisco married in Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday, /4/25,” her rep confirms to US Weekly.

The couple got married in an intimate ceremony at The Mar-a-Lago Club. 50 guests were present there at the time of their wedding. Niemi was so excited about the wedding.

“What I most look forward to on my wedding day is walking up, standing at our altar, and looking into his most incredible, twinkling eyes,” she told People two days before her wedding. “I cannot think of a bigger treat than that.” 

Lisa Niemi looked beautiful in a lovely wedding gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. She bought her wedding gown at Casa de Novia in Houston. Albert DePrisco also looked handsome in an Ermenegildo Zegna dinner jacket with custom slacks.

Niemi has some good friends that made her wedding even more beautiful. “I have some hilarious friends. I’m sure there will be some fun toasts!” she said. “Later on we’ll dance to everything from Michael Bublé and Steve Tyrell, to 70’s classics, to current hits, with a big dash of romance thrown in.”
