Apple iPads to Launch on October 21

Apple is said to be launching new models of its iPads in the market next month. Next-generation iPads have admirable qualities and so customers like to procure them. The presentation of new iPads by Apple will reportedly be performed on 21st October, 2014.

Apple is also presenting the rendition of its Mac operating system, OS X Yosemite, on October 21st, 2014. The organization arrangements are being made to disclose the sixth era of its iPad and the third version of the iPad mini. The next-generation iPad will have a 9.7 inch screen, while the iPad mini will have a 7.9 inch screen.

Apple has sold a total of just 13.3 million iPads till June 2014. The tech giant failed to meet the iPads sales projection of analysts. Apple was expected to sell more than 14 million iPads till June.

But Apple is expecting more this year. Apple has already launched its two new iPhone models, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, earlier this month. Both new iPhones are now available for sale in the market.

Now with the launch of both new iPad models ahead of the holiday season, Apple can meet its sales targets. According to Pocket-lint, “Apple seems to have taken a liking to Tuesdays.

“The iPhone 5S was announced on Tuesday 10th September, 2013, while the iPad Air was revealed on Tuesday 22nd October, 2013. And the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were also unveiled on the second day of the working week earlier this month, so 21st October isn’t too unbelievable a date given it would certainly follow the pattern.”

Several previous reports suggest that both new iPads will include Touch ID. The larger iPad, also called iPad Air 2, will be a much more improved version than the smaller iPad mini with Retina display. iPad Air 2 is expected to be thinner (approximately 1mm thinner) than the current model.

And a metallic gold iPad Air 2 is also expected to come out soon. The display of larger iPad is expected to be anti-reflective. A new volume button was also spotted in the rendered images.

On the other hand, the iPad mini features will be the same except for the addition of Touch ID. And Apple is said to be launching both new iPads with the same 2560 x 1536 display.

However, Apple is expected to enhance its camera power. iPad Air 2 is expected to have a 8MP rear-facing camera instead of 5MP. And some reports are also suggesting that the front-facing camera power can be increased to 1.5MP instead of the usual 1.2MP.

iPad Air 2 is reported to come with an A8 processor. However, the iPad mini 3 processor might not be updated.  But both models will surely come with iOS 8 operating system.

All these speculations and rumors point towards the launch of a much improved second generation iPad Air and a slightly improved third generation iPad mini next month.

No official confirmation is in yet about specs, launch date, and even the names of the new iPads from Apple. Apple spokeswoman, Trudy Muller, has refused to comment on the launch date of the new iPads. So, we have to wait until the launch of both new iPad models to see what both will actually bring in terms of technological sophistication.
