There are chances that Batman v Superman might give us a female Robin in the form of Jena Malone.
Batman v Superman: Jena Malone to Play the Role of Female Robin
The movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is partially being inspired by a dystopian comic book series, The Dark Knight Returns, which was published in 1986. The movie shows an aged Batman, who will also be wearing armor that looks like it has been ripped straight out of the comic book. According to San Diego Comic-Co goers, the similarities between the disparagingly applauded tale and the upcoming Batman v Superman movie will extend past appearance and age.
Actress Jena Malone was seen on the production set of the Dawn of Justice, several months ago, thus giving rise to speculations that she is involved with the production. After seeing her there, people in general believed that she will be the new female Robin, Carrie Kelley.
But later on she denied having any connection with the movie and said that she was there just to visit an old friend. Her claim does make sense, as she had worked with the director Zack Snyder on 2011’s Sucker Punch. However, when she posted her picture with her hair dyed red, a color which is similar to Kelley’s, the rumors started again.
Don’t forget this might really be a coincidence, she might have dyed her hair for another role or just because she wanted red hair. Yet her idea of playing the female Robin in Dawn of Justice isn’t entirely weird.
In Dawn of Justice, Bruce Wayne will be old, but not as old as his Dark Knight Returns incarnation. He will be the protector of Gotham City, by the time Superman arrives. The first Robin role was played by Dick Grayson, who later on became Nightwing.
Jason Todd was the one who succeeded Grayson as Robin and he was killed by the Joker, but somehow he survived and now is The Red Hood. The third was Tim Brake who is now known as the Red Robin; he was followed by Stephanie and lastly by Bruce’s son Damian.
In case Jena plays the Robin role in Dawn of Justice, it is likely to be a small part. However, if another Batman sequel comes into existence there is a chance she will have a major role in it.
Actress Jena Malone is strongly rumoured to play the female Robin, Carrie Kelley, (see comic “The… t.co/0qbxvK040O
