Netflix has announced on Thursday that it has signed an exclusive deal with Chelsea Handler to host an all-new talk show for the Internet TV Network along with a stand-up special and four new docu-comedy specials. The terms of this deal have not been disclosed.

“If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested. I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move. I’m more excited than I’ve been in awhile, and the team at Netflix is the most forward thinking, alert group I’ve sat down with in ages. No offense to the Shahs Of Sunset,” said Chelsea.

The unnamed talk show will be Netflix’s first-ever show that will premier in early 2016 for all members in all Netflix territories simultaneously.

“The new talk show will feature an updated format that still encompasses Chelsea’s unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment and cultural issues, as well as her signature guest interviews,” said Netflix in a statement.

“The Internet has disrupted many of the conventions of traditional television and together with Chelsea Handler, Netflix is looking forward to reimagining the late night talk show for the on-demand generation, starting with the late night part….” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

However, before the talk show, Chelsea Handler will do her first one hour stand-up comedy performance, based on her sold-out tour “Uganda Be Kidding Me” Live. Today, Handler is taping this special in Chicago at the Harris Theater. This hour-long stand-up special will premier on Netflix on October 10th.

And Chelsea will also create four new docu-comedy specials next year exclusively for Netflix that will feature a variety of subjects including NASCAR, politics, Silicon Valley, NBA draft and more.

Chelsea Handler will also be the producer of the stand-up special, docu-comedy specials and new talk show along with Tom Brunelle and Brad Wollack, who are the two executive producers of “Chelsea Lately.”

“Chelsea has built a huge following on tour, on nightly TV and through her best-selling books, and we can’t wait to introduce her breathtakingly honest and irreverent voice to our global membership,” said Sarandos.
