Elemental Path CogniToys powered by IBM Watson Super Computer passed Founding Goal

Elemental Path wants to bring super computer powered smart toys to the market. The startup is off to a great start and reached their Kickstarter founding goal in less than 24 hours.

A new startup brings IBM Watson powered smart toys to the market. Elemental Path announced their first product named CogniToys. The first super computer connected toy is a little dinosaur that is speech enabled, personalized, connected and educational.

Kids can ask the dino thousands of questions and listen to stories. The CogniToys dinosaur also can tell knock knock jokes and create a unique personality based on the interaction with the kid owner.

CogniToys create an atmosphere of fun, playful education. The toy is engaging the child in educational play. Among the educational features are rhyming, spelling, vocabulary and mathematics. As the interaction increases so will the challenge of the educational content continuing to become more challenging as the child learns.

The premise of the CogniToys is to create a rich kid friendly experience that goes beyond any smart toy available today. The CogniToy connects into a cloud based platform that will evolve over time. Connecting kids via a toy to the power of a super computer could have huge potential.

The story of Elemental Path started a year ago in the IBM Watson Mobile App Developer Challenge. The team won the Grand Prize out of hundreds of companies competing. As proof of concept the company launched a Kickstarter project yesterday with a modest $50,000 funding goal. Over 500 backers have already committed their support and surpassed the goal. Watch the Kickstarter pitch below showing kids interact with the smart dinosaur the first time.

The initial Green Dinosaur sells for $99 with an estimated shipping date of November. The funding is still open and you still have a chance to score the smartest toy that you can give this Christmas on Kickstarter. In case funding reaches $100,000, Elemental Path will make two new colors available to choose from. This will likely happen today.
