Fiona Apple is a famous American songwriter and her new song called ‘Container,’ is going to accompany the title sequence of an upcoming show called ‘The Affair.’
Fiona Apple Releases New Song for ‘The Affair’
Fiona Apple McAfee Maggart is one of the famous singers, songwriters, poets and pianists of America. She released her debut album called ‘Tidal’ in 1996 and received a Grammy Award for giving the Best Female Rock Vocal Performance. Even after so many years, she is still considered to be among the best.
According to a source, about eighty seconds of Fiona Apple’s previously unreleased song named ‘Container’ will accompany the title sequence of an upcoming series called ‘The Affair.’
The story is about a woman who was trapped in a canyon and she died screaming in it. A man was also killed because of the avalanche created by her screaming. Almost in a style of a cappella, Fiona Apple sings that in the end all that the woman could do was to “sink back into the ocean.”
In addition to that the source said that the scriptwriter was inspired by the song and that the story of the play is in accord with the meaning of the song and its lyrics.
Sarah Treem, the executive producer of ‘The Affair’ said that Fiona Apple McAfee has been her favorite songwriter since the age of sixteen, according to Pitchfork.
She also said that it is a big honor for her that Apple has lent her talent for the opening title of her sequences. In addition to that she said if her show is able to reach one tenth of the complexity and depth of Apple’s song, she would be elated.
The track is produced by Blake Mills, who is Apple’s guitarist and collaborator. Another famous track by Apple called “Anything We Want” was also produced by Mills.
Although both Apple and Mills make an excellent team, there was a time when Mills was apprehensive about working with Apple, according to Rolling Stone. He said there isn’t a lot of guitar in her records, but I enjoy working with musicians who react to music.
The Affair, featuring Ruth Wilson, Dominic West and Maura Tierney will premiere on 12th October at 10 p.m. EST.

At my first knitting class for 10 minutes and I’ve already heard Rilo Kiley and Fiona Apple. This was meant to be.
