Hatton Garden Jewelry Heist Was Done By Group of Old Men

This will blow your Geek Mind. Police arrested ten men in connection with the high profile jewelry heist in London over the Easter weekend. Two of them are over 70 years old.

Already called Dad’s Army in the British press, a group old men has been arrested in connection with the Hatton Garden Jewelry heist. The heist was worth £10million or £60million depending on the source. Nobody knows for sure what was in the 73 deposit boxes the thief emptied over the long Easter weekend.

The heist was described by Police back then as sophisticated. Now it turns out it was the work of elderly amateurs. The entered the building through an elevator shaft climbing down to the basement where the vault is located. They drilled a whole through the concrete wall to crawl inside the vault where the emptied 73 safety deposit boxes. 

The Dad’s army is aged from 48 to 76 years old. There are two members of the robbers who are over 70 years old. The combined age of the group is 490.

Mail Online has the photos of the men as they have been brought in front of a judge today in London. Today a 10th man, a 42-year-old from Essex, was arrested in connection with the heist on Thursday. One of the ten man arrested has been released on bail.

It is not known yet how much of the haul the police has recovered yet. The arrests were made in a coordinate raid across London and Kent on Tuesday involving 200 officers.

The Hatton Garden Jewelry heist was from the beginning something Hollywood will be all over. Now that it has been revealed that a Dad’s Army has pulled off the heist it is for sure that there is going to be a movie telling this story. 

There are so many open questions. Why did they decide to do it? How are these guys connected to each other. Who had the idea?
