Huawei Agile Internet of Things Solution Runs on 10KB LiteOS

Huawei has launched the world’s first software-defined networking (SDN)-based Agile Network 3.0 architecture at Huawei’s Network Congress (HNC) 2015.



Huawei has announced the launch of Agile Network 3.0 Architect at the Huawei Network Congress 2015. It is themed ‘From Agility To Imagination’ which is taking place in Beijing. Huawei will introduce its Agile Internet of Things solution.

The solution will enable enterprises to build an agile Internet of Things infrastructure to capture infinite business possibilities. This also helps to realize the digitization of areas such as manufacturing, logistics and production.

Huawei is also predicting that by the year 2025, almost 100 billion connection will be generated globally. It is also predicting that two million new sensors will be deployed every hour. That networks that are available today cannot provide the connectivity to support this.

As part of Huawei Network Congress, the company will launch its Agile IoT Solution which will consist of three core components. These components are Agile IoT gateway, Agile Controller and LiteOS which is a lightweight IoT operating system.

Huawei is also thinking about standardizing ICT infrastructure. Huawei believes that it will foster the development of Internet applications which includes IoT apps. The Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at Huawei said that to address such needs, Huawei is launching its own IoT OS.

This LiteOS will be the world’s most lightweight OS with the size of just 10KB. It supports zero configuration, auto networking and auto discovery. This OS can be applied to different areas including smart homes, wearables, industries and connected vehicles.

This LiteOS will simplify the development of smart hardware to enhance IoT connectivity. The new LiteOS would be made available to all developers. This will allow developers to make their own IoT products. Huawei is focused on developing IoT Infrastructure products and solutions.

Huawei is also looking to collaborate with several upstream and downstream partners to develop industry solutions. The President of Huawei Enterprise Business Group Yan Lida, said that BDII requires close business collaboration and joint innovation efforts between Huawei and their partners.

Yan Lida also said that they have been involved in industry alliances and have worked with standard organizations in the area of IoT.
