Nina Davuluri crowns Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev

There she goes…there she goes again! The final and real winner of the Miss America 2015 beauty pageant turned out to be Miss New York again. And her name is Kira Kazantsev

Kira is the third girl from New York who won Miss America contest. Miss America 2014, Nina Davuluri, 25, also belongs to New York while Miss America 2013, Mallory Hagan, 25, is also a New Yorker.

Since the past two years or so the winners of Miss America contests have hailed from The Big Apple. Nina Davuluri and Mallory Hagan both had Miss New York titles before they got a chance to win the Miss America epithet.

This year’s Miss America, Kira Kazantsev spoke of how it was a strange yet very serendipitous happening that three ladies had won the contest in a row.

“It’s definitely monumental,” Kazantsev told New Jersey. “This is the first time in the organization’s history, I believe, that a state has won three years in a row.”

Kira furthermore expatiated on why hailing from New York helped as far as winning the title was concerned. “The thing about New York, especially being Miss New York, is that you have to make it,” Kazantsev continued.

It had to do with the effort women from that area made in life. They simply worked their butts out according to Kira. She said that if you could survive in New York, you could survive anywhere else in the world.

“You have to bust your little tushy to get to where you want to go, and that creates somebody that’s very independent, very self-serving — or, not self-serving … um — very able to … to do things on their owns,” she said. New York had all the toughest Americans settled in its precincts. It was a hard city alright.

Miss America 2015, Kira Kazantsev, is a young adult who is 22 years of age and is the daughter of Russian immigrants and she Russian fluently. “My parents left for a better life,” she said in a recent interview.“They gave up everything to make a better life for me and my little brother.”

Kira is so lucky to have won the Miss America 2015 title on this prestigious platform. She wants to promote diplomatic relations among the world’s countries. And she also has plans to learn law. Her application has already been accepted to attend classes at Fordham University’s Law School.

And she has made a vow to try and end abuse in familial matters. Kira already has an official platform for victims of domestic violence by title, “Love Shouldn’t Hurt: Protecting Women Against Domestic Violence.”

Miss America 2015, Kira Kazantsev, began to lend her voice to the cause of ending domestic violence against women out of necessity since she herself faced such personal issues during her college life.

“I want people to stop asking, ‘Why doesn’t she just leave?’ Every woman is an expert in her own case, and there are so many extenuating circumstances that lead to a woman staying with her abuser,” she said, according to HL.

Kira Kazantsev will also act as the official National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals which is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children’s hospitals. And it is also the national platform partner of the Miss America Organization.

This wonderful woman will receive $50,000 in scholarship funds. The even more wonderful thing is that she will be using the money to pay for her study sessions in law school.

Kira graduates from Long Island’s Hofstra University. Kira had three majors in college that includes political science, global studies and geography. She will serve as spokesperson for education as Miss America 2015. And she will travel to Washington, D.C., to work with the Department of Education.

Kira put on quite a show after she won. She sat on the floor on stage and tapped a red cup to the song “Happy”. Miss Virginia Courtney Garrett was the first runner-up who earned a $25,000 scholarship.

The second runner-up was Miss Arkansas Ashton Jo Campbell who earned a $20,000 scholarship; and the third runner-up was Miss Arkansas Ashton Jo Campbell; and the fourth runner-up was Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn.

Miss Idaho Sierra Sandison was the winner of ABC’s America’s Choice. Miss North Dakota Jacky Arness was the winner of the Judge’s Choice Award and also won the coveted Miss Congeniality Award.

Miss New Mexico Jessica Burson, Miss Vermont Lucy Edwards, Miss Ohio Mackenzie Bart, Miss Massachusetts Lauren Kuhn, and Miss Georgia Maggie Bridges are the four winners of $5,000 scholarships for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics respectively.

Finally, at the end of the show a round of applause took place as a stage selfie was posted on Twitter with all the participants smiling and gathered together for the photo opportunity. Congrats, Kira, you are the best!
