Microsoft shifts its focus to a single Windows brand
Official handset image shows new Windows Phone with ‘Windows’ branding
There were a lot questions surrounding Nokia’s acquisition by Microsoft and during the past few weeks we have been hearing about how Microsoft is planning to change its branding for the mobile devices. The aim is to slowly fade out the Nokia brand so that it is not used on the future handsets of the company. The surprising news is that the Windows Phone brand is also being dropped and this is going to be a major change which is also going to affect the hardware partners of Microsoft as well.
Microsoft is now going to focus on the single Windows brand which means that there is going to be a single platform for all its devices and form factors. There has been no public announcement or official acknowledgement of this as yet but the sources have informed us that these plans are most likely going to be confirmed soon.
