According to an SEC filing, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has gotten a Compensation Package valued at $84m.

Satya Nadella joined Microsoft in 1992. He was named CEO in February 2014. The new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is getting paid well by Microsoft revealed a new SEC filing. His compensation package as CEO of Microsoft is valued at $84m. The package is stretched out until 2019 and most is in stock grants that have stock performance ties.

It was also revealed that Nadella received a quite large retention package of $13.5m back in August of 2013. Looks like Microsoft feared he would leave the company. Now Satya Nadella is regarded as a great choice for following Ballmer’s footsteps at Microsoft.

Satya Nadella got in a bit of hot water with comments he made about woman job equality, but Microsoft’s PR has since smoothed over his comments.

Satya Nadella outlined how Microsoft is using Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Microsoft Dynamics to deliver the industry’s most complete cloud — for every business, every industry and every geography. Furthering this commitment, Microsoft announced several enhancements to its hyper-scale, enterprise-grade, hybrid cloud platform, including the new Azure G-series of virtual machines and Premium Storage; the general availability of the Microsoft Cloud Platform System, powered by Dell; partnerships with Cloudera Inc. and CoreOS; and a new Azure Marketplace.

“The enterprises of today and tomorrow demand a cloud platform that is reliable, scalable and flexible,” Nadella said. “With more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500 on the Microsoft cloud, we are delivering the industry’s most complete cloud — for every business, every industry and every geography.”
