Mortal Kombat 10 is one of the best and promising video games coming next year. But it’s also the most brutal game we’ve seen.
Mortal Kombat X /4/feature guest characters
When NetherRealm Studios unveiled Mortal Kombat X at E3 last month, we were thrilled. The trailer revealed the iconic characters Sub-Zero and Scorpion brutally fighting each other. As expected, the graphics is stunning. For example, the game showed slow-motion x-ray views of brutal attacks.
Now at EVO 2014, NetherRealm Studios creative director Ed Boon revealed that Raiden is coming back. And he’s better too. Boon also confirmed that Mortal Kombat X will feature guest characters which will be available as DLC (Downloadable Content).
The Chicago-based NetherRealm Studios started experimenting with DLCs in 2011 when Mortal Kombat 9 was launched. The move was a huge success. Then Scorpion also debuted on Injustice: Gods Among Us – another huge hit.
“Freddy Krueger was the most downloaded character in Mortal Kombat 9,” Boon said. “Scorpion was the guest character in Injustice, and he was the most downloaded character in that game. It’s working out for us, and I’d be surprised if we ignored those numbers.”
So, can we expect Batman or Superman to guest on Mortal Kombat X? It’s unlikely to happen. Boon said that he doesn’t want to decapitate Batman or Superman.
“I’d be hard-pressed to have a DC character as a downloadable character in Mortal Kombat X. The main reason is, I have no desire to cut Batman’s head off. I have no desire to kill Superman,” he added.
Mortal Kombat X is scheduled for release next year on the Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. So far, the confirmed characters are Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Cassie Cage, D’Vorah, Ferra/Torr, Kotal Kahn, and Raiden.
