Red Bull has settled a proposed class action lawsuit. If you drank a Red Bull can within the last 10 years you could get $10.

How about a $10 for free? Red Bull has settled a proposed class action lawsuit for $13m. The lawsuit alleges false advertising of Red Bull energy drinks.

The lawsuit claims that the advertised benefits of increased performance, improved concentration”and reaction speed are not true. The suit questions the while “gives you wings” marketing and compare it to a cup of coffee that gives you more caffeine at a much lower price.

Red Bull has settled to avoid the cost and distraction of litigation. Red Bull said in a statement that the company maintains that its marketing and labeling have always been truthful and accurate, and denies any and all wrongdoing or liability.

The court has still to approve this settlement. The hearing is in /4/1, 2015. You can though already file your claim for the $10 online here. It is not clear how the distribution of the $10 per Red Bull customer is going to happen. The amount is just enough for 1.3 million customers.
